Looking Forward to the Next Issue

February 11, 2016 - Larry Claypool
With the Spring 2016 issue of Ohio Valley Outdoors Magazine due to hit newsstands in early March we're already working on the Summer 2016 issue (June 1 release). That issue will feature another robust and interesting collection of outdoor articles that readers will enjoy. My recent trip with Master Falconer Mick Brown brought to light an interesting connection Brown made with a nine-year-old boy from Huntington, West Virginia. Young Michael Shelton — who is infatuated with falconry and birds of prey) couldn't wait to witness Brown's hawks hunt on an Ohio tree farm in late January. We'll explore Shelton's trip, his story and connection with Brown and his birds. See photos from the January hunt in the Spring issue of OVO, February issue of Ohio Valley Outdoor Times and Ohio Valley Outdoors-Magazine's Facebook page.

Also coming up in the Summer issue will be Part II of Tommy Kirkland's Deer Dilemma series and a detailed product review by OVO Pro Staffer Travis Hunt on the Parker Concorde crossbow. Hunt suffered a back injury in 2014 that cancelled his deer hunting dreams. A new product, the Concorde, brought life to Hunt's ability to arm a crossbow and hunt again.
