Uncle Raymond’s offering quality hunting clothes

BOLIVAR, OH — The mission statement at Uncle Raymond’s Outdoor Products says it all. “To provide a high-quality briar, wind and waterproof, comfortable and durable hunting clothes, that are made in the USA”.

Uncle Raymond’s owner Ray Myers knows a little about quality hunting products. He’s a veteran hunter and outdoorsman with 30 years of experience in the woods. After he purchased a “brand name” hunting outfit that didn’t holdup in the woods, he sought out a better product.

“I spent $250 on a outfit and everything was stuck to it. It looked nice, but it wasn’t quiet and every burr stuck to it,” said Myers of his “brand name” outfit.

That experience ‘stuck’ with Myers several months later when he came across a local Amish clothier that was producing just the quality product he had been seeking. Myers liked the hunting clothing so well, he agreed to purchase the American-made items for his new business. “I had been looking for something to start my own business. I found this. It’s locally made and a very good quality. It took me a year to get going, but now we’re ready to go,” said Myers of his new venture.

So, Uncle Raymond’s Outdoor Products was founded with a line of quality camo hunting coats, pants and bibs. The bucksuede clothing is wind, water and briar-proof. They come in insulated and non-insulated sizes (small, medium, large and extra large). The camo pattern is the popular Super Flauge Game by Lynch.

“This material is the best. You can get in briars, get it wet, it holds up. This is a good fabric, we really like it,” said Myers. “It’s the best fabric you can get. I think hunters will like it. This is an investment for serious hunters.”

Myers added that the bucksuede fabric is tough enough for the sage brush out west. He should know, he’s hunted in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and back east in Ohio and West Virginia.

Uncle Raymond’s also sells quality local-made game calls. They’ll feature elk, crow, duck, goose, deer grunt, owl, predator and turkey calls.

In the near future Uncle Raymond’s will add more products to the wholesale/retail business.

For now the bucksuede clothing is Myers’ feature item. The hunting coats come with standard zippers with snaps and two deep inside pockets. Also available is an optional zippered opening in the back for a safety harness. The pants have an elastic belted waist, fly zipper, two front pockets and one rear pocket with a zipper. The pants also come insulated and non-insulated.

The coats retail for $125 (non-insulated) and $175 (insulated). Extra large sizes are a little more. Custom sizes are also available. The pants sell for $115 (non-insulated) and $162 (insulated). Bibs run $150 (non-insulated) and $183 (insulated). For the three-piece outfit, the non-insulated is available for $350 and insulated, $455. Shipping is available for an additional cost.
