Fish Ohio Report, Dec. 14, 2011

Walleye: Walleye have been caught occasionally from Vermilion to Cedar Point. Most fish have been caught in 30 to 45' of water with crankbaits trolled from 5 to 15' down. Fish have also been caught at night from Huron to Vermilion and around Cleveland harbor. Open water temperatures are around 40 degrees, but harbors and rivers are beginning to freeze up. Use extreme caution when fishing in cold water.

The water temperature is 38 degrees off of Toledo and 43 degrees off of Cleveland according to the nearshore marine forecast.

Anglers are encouraged to always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device while boating.

Regulations to Remember:

The daily bag limit for Lake Erie walleye is 6 fish. The minimum size limit is 15 inches.

The daily bag limit for yellow perch is 30 fish per angler on all Ohio waters of Lake Erie.
