For the novice, this can quickly turn into fear realizing that you may be lost. The handheld GPS could be one of the most important accessories to carry for situations like this. Then, the question is, "Which one"?

The Bushnell BackTrack GPS HuntTrack may be just the gadget for any hunter wanting versatility for a wide variety of uses plus its simple to operate, with an easy-to-use menu and just 4 buttons. - - - HuntTrack User Programmable Features

* Marking Locations There are 5 different icons that can identify specific locations and store them to memory (deer, camp, vehicle, tree, treestand). To mark a location: 1) select the appropriate icon (the vehicle for example), 2) while you're standing by the vehicle, press and hold the 'mark' button to store the GPS position in memory. Now, when you're out in an unfamiliar woods and the sun goes down, the directional arrow on the HuntTrack's screen will point the direction and distance to your vehicle.

* Multiple Locations In addition to the 5 icons, the numbers 1 to 20 can be used as markers. For example, the markers could be used while following a blood trail.

* Recording a Trip (Route) Press and hold the Trip/Data button to start recording. Then, press again to stop recording. The HuntTrack records distance traveled, average speed, date, time, changes in temperature and altitude. The memory can save multiple trips/routes and up to 48 total hours of trips/routes.

* HuntTrack App Using a computer, you can download a free software program from Bushnell called HuntTrack App. Once installed, the HuntTrack can be plugged in to your PC or Mac with a USB cable and the trips/routes can be transferred to your computer. Your trips/routes can then be viewed in 4 ways (map, satellite, hybrid map/satellite, terrain). The HuntTrack App then has a wide variety of additional features to use with your maps.

The Bushnell BackTrack GPS HuntTrack was designed for hunters. The HuntTrack is compact, measuring 4" tall, 2 3/4" wide and 7/8" thick; with 3 AAA batteries installed, the weight is only 4 ounces.; the screen is 1.625" x 1.625"; there is a loop for attaching a lanyard. For usage in inclement weather, the HuntTrack is IPX4 water resistant. Accuracy is to within 10 yards.

Even though it is hunter oriented, the HuntTrack can be used by anyone in the outdoors. Fishing marking hot spots on a lake or tracking where you've trolled. Trapping marking trap locations. Camping/Hiking finding you way back to camp or a shelter; if you get lost, calling for help on a cell phone with your latitude/longitude coordinates.
