By Larry Claypool - OVO Editor , Ohio Valley Outdoors

The 3rd Annual Antlers and Anglers Sportsman's Showcase outdoor event drew a large crowd and raised money for a great cause. The event was held September 14 at Boardman Park in Boardman, OH. Several outdoor vendors and demonstrations were featured. The event was presented by Armstrong Cable and benefitted the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

On Target Outfitters, an faith-based outdoor youth group from Canfield, OH, allowed youngsters to try a hand at archery shooting and they were kept busy all afternoon. A fishing pond was also a big hit with kids during the event. The ODNR Division of Wildlife and Division of Watercraft provided displays and officers for the event. The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center offered a unique display and provided a collection of live snakes. The Birds of Prey displayed several unusual birds.

Local Top Shot contestant, Brian "Gunny" Zins was on hand and signed autographs. A wild game cooking demonstration, and samples, was provided by the Springfield Grille. There was also live music, a scavenger hunt and petting zoo.
