By Larry Claypool - OVO Editor , Ohio Valley Outdoors

WINTERSVILLE, OH - Jessica Elias, the Creative Director at L.T. Wright Handcrafted Knives of Wintersville, OH, has qualified for the 2015 BladeSports National Competition next month and will be the first female to ever compete in the national event.

There have been other women compete in the qualifying events but none have scored well enough to make the national event. Elias will join 12 men who also qualified this year.

Elais qualified for nationals by scoring well enough (third in combined points) in two events earlier this year. One of those events, the BladeSports International Buckeye Cut, was hosted by her employer in Wintersville last month.
