Beaver Creek and Guilford Lake Offer Special Turtle Programs

LISBON, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) invites the public to attend one of three Turtle Programs at Beaver Creek State Park on July 22 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and at Guilford Lake State Park on at 4 p.m. the same day.

Each program will feature interesting facts about turtles and a rare opportunity to view a live 50-lb. snapping turtle. Subject of myths and legends, snapping turtles are amazing creatures. The program, hosted by ODNR NE District Park Naturalist Mike Mainhart, will also cover other Ohio native turtles.

The park's 10 a.m. show will be held at the campground amphitheater, located on Leslie Road. The 11 a.m. show will be held at Beaver Creek's park office, which is located on 12021 Echo Dell Road.

Later that day, the 4 p.m. show at Guilford Lake State Park will be held at the campground amphitheater which is located at 6141 Clewell Drive in Lisbon.
