In Ga. they had what was known as draw or lottery hunts on private properties such as land owned by power plants or colleges or WMA's to manage the size of the local herd. You could submit an application and if your were picked you got to hunt on specific dates. Does anyone know if Ohio has such a program? How can I find out about them? Member Commentshuntfamily5Hello JimBoh, Welcome back to Ohio. I have lived here for ten years now and this was one of my first questions. The OHDNR does have lottery hunts that you can apply for. These hunts are on both state and private lands. Some of the hunts are for the general populaiton while some are for youth or disabled hunters. Furthermore, last year the OH DNR began a partnership program between land owners / farmers and hunters. However, I did not see this mentioned on the OH DNR website as of today.
